OptiFender PD Sensors

The OptiFender PD Sensor by Optics11 is a fiber optic sensor designed for partial discharge detection in high voltage assets, reducing shutdown costs and enabling predictive maintenance. The sensor is immune to electromagnetic interference and features a passive design that allows it to detect low, medium, and high levels of partial discharge using acoustic emission technology. Key advantages include immunity to EM interference, no power needed at the sensing location, no pre-amplifier or signal conditioner required, small size, and easy installation. The sensor works with the OptiFender fiber optic partial discharge system.

OptimAE is the world’s only all fiber-optic Acoustic Emission (AE) sensing system, capable of measuring in extreme environments such as high-voltage areas, ATEX zones, and areas with high EMI or liquids. This system overcomes the limitations of classic electrical transducers, extending the benefits of Acoustic Emission to new industries.
