OptiFender – Partial discharge Monitoring

OptiFender, by Optics11, is a fiber optic partial discharge monitoring system designed to monitor critical components in high-voltage assets in remote and high EMI locations. The system uses unique fiber optic technology, making the sensors passive, immune to EM fields, easy to install, and suitable for remote locations. OptiFender can monitor terminations, joints, bushings, switch gears, transformers, and electrical machines. It detects partial discharge by measuring ultrasonic acoustic waves generated by microscopic electrical discharges within insulation systems. The modular design allows easy configuration and expansion from 3 to 32 channels.

OptimAE is the world’s only all fiber-optic Acoustic Emission (AE) sensing system, capable of measuring in extreme environments such as high-voltage areas, ATEX zones, and areas with high EMI or liquids. This system overcomes the limitations of classic electrical transducers, extending the benefits of Acoustic Emission to new industries. The system features up to 32 optical channels, a sampling speed of 1 MS/s, and true simultaneous signal acquisition. It is suitable for applications like Structural Health Monitoring, Condition Monitoring, and Measurements in ATEX, extreme low/high temperatures, and radiation (EMI/nuclear) environments.
